At BlizzCon the afternoon, we got a look at what’s coming for Overwatch during what turned out to be a surprisingly large chunk of the opening ceremony.
Notably, the team revealed the conclusion of Act 3 in the ongoing narrative as well as its new support hero Doctrine with his creepy robot bat vampire vibes. Aaron Keller also announced that we’re getting a re-re-work for multiple characters, including Sombra (who’s destined to become a support toon) and Roadhog (who’s getting a tank overhaul, finally).
Overwatch fans at the show, make sure you check out the Quest Watch RPG being delivered – apparently, it was penned in part by Matt Mercer. And Overwatch fans at home can jump into the new hero trial for Doctrine live between now and September 14th. Beyond that? Overwatch Season 5 kicks off on October 6th.
“Season 5 brings new Support Hero Doctrine, major hero reworks for Sombra and Roadhog, the new map Watchpoint: Grimsvötn, along with the conclusion of The Reign of Talon, the first year-long narrative arc in Overwatch history.
“YOASOBI will perform at BlizzCon’s first-ever esports halftime show during the Overwatch World Cup. LE SSERAFIM returns to the BlizzCon Main Stage to close out BlizzCon weekend with a live performance, a prelude to their upcoming U.S. tour. Celebrating their return to BlizzCon, a new LE SSERAFIM in-game collaboration is available now.
“With even more news and announcements in store, the next Overwatch Spotlight arrives in February 2027.”
