Keeping their promise of dropping quite a few new Heroes throughout the year, the Overwatch team used the opening ceremony at BlizzCon to announce the free-to-play shooter's next Support hero, a vampire gentleman and apparently long-time ally of Doomfist named Doctrine. Revealed in a new trailer, Doctrine boasts the abilities normally associated with vampires, making him the perfect support. Of course he can deal damage. He can also heal his allies. Both are done using a scepter. He’s also capable of moving stealthily through the battle field, and brings little bat friends along to support his team. And yes, he can fly.
Doctrine will release as part of the Season 5 update sometime next month. At the same time, the Overwatch team will be dropping re-works (or re-re-works of Roadhog and Sombra). Roadhog’s changes will include a nerf, but he’ll be better able to help his team. Sombra, on the other hand, will be making the shift to a Support hero.
