Gorr the God Butcher is coming to Marvel Rivals Season 10, and gods should

NetEase Games has revealed Gorr the God Butcher as the latest hero joining the roster in Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy. The terrifying Duelist arrives wielding the All-Black, the Necrosword, bringing a brutal new playstyle to the battlefield.

Season 10 launches on Sept. 11, with Gorr leading a new wave of content, including the God Quarry map, new events, costumes, and more.

Gorr enters Marvel Rivals as a Duelist, giving players another aggressive, damage-focused hero to add to their lineups. His signature weapon is the Necrosword, which can transform into different forms depending on the situation, giving Gorr plenty of options when it comes to dealing with enemies.

His abilities aren’t limited to simply cutting through opponents, either. By executing enemies and absorbing their flesh, Gorr can transform them into Black Berserkers. He can then command these creatures to fight alongside him, allowing him to build an army during battle.

That mechanic could make Gorr particularly dangerous in extended fights. The more enemies he eliminates, the more Black Berserkers he can potentially bring into the fray, giving him another way to overwhelm his opponents.

Gorr also has plenty of mobility thanks to his symbiote abilities. Through symbiote assimilation, he can travel across the battlefield and strike from unexpected angles, allowing him to close the distance or reposition when enemies think they’re safe. And if Gorr manages to build up his army, things can get even more chaotic.

His Ultimate Ability transforms the All-Black into the Annihilablade, allowing Gorr to command all active Black Berserkers to join him in a devastating assault. It’s an appropriately brutal finishing move for a character whose entire identity revolves around hunting down gods.

Gorr may be the main addition, but Season 10 has plenty more in store. The season introduces the God Quarry, a new Domination map connected to Gorr’s story, where the Faith-Harvesting Engine has been brought to the quarry as he seeks to eradicate every deity across the Chronoverse. While there are usual buffs and nerfs, the main one is that Scarlet Witch is getting a rework where all of her abilities, passive and ultimate, work a bit differently.

Players can also look forward to new Pajama Party costumes when the season launches on September 11. The Sept. 18 update will introduce the Jeff’s Dream Eater and Jeff’s Superstar Seeking events, while the September 24 update will bring the God Quarry map and the return of Galacta’s Gift.

The second half of the season will continue the Path to Doomsday storyline with Phase 3: Avengers Infinity War and Phase 4: Avengers Endgame, alongside two new game modes arriving as part of Season 10.5. Season 10 will also be the only season with only one hero releasing, but the developers have assured players that Season 11 will have two heroes going back to their original timeline.

For now, though, Gorr is the star of the show. With the All-Black in hand, an army of Black Berserkers at his command, and the Annihilablade ready to unleash hell, the God Butcher is coming to Marvel Rivals.
