Umamusume: Pretty Derby’s Los Angeles concerts have been canceled after organizers were unable to secure the visas needed to enter the US, just days before the shows were due to take place.
Just a day after Cygames had warned that visa delays could prevent the Umamusume’s 7th Event World Tour: The Stage, the developers have now revealed that its two LA concerts scheduled for October 22 and 23 have been cancelled.
The two shows would have given American Umamusume fans a chance to see the game’s voice actors perform songs and dance routines as their horse girl characters. However, refunds are now being processed, with further details still to come for those who planned to attend.
Umamusume cancels LA concerts and announces ticket refunds
In the statement, Umamusume devs Cygames said repeated efforts to obtain the necessary visas had ultimately been unsuccessful.
“Although we have coordinated repeatedly with all parties concerned and explored every possible option in our efforts to make this event happen, we were unable to obtain the necessary visas for entry into the US, so we have come to the painful conclusion that holding the concerts is no longer possible.”
The announcement follows an October 19 update that gave fans a deadline of 10pm PT that evening for a final decision on whether the concerts could proceed. Cygames has now apologized to fans for the cancellation and for confirming it so close to the scheduled performances.

“To all the Trainers who were eagerly looking forward to the show, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this causes, and for announcing this so close to the event date,” continues the statement.
Both on-site viewing tickets and streaming tickets will be refunded, but there is currently no timeline as to when said refunds will be distributed. While this news is far from ideal, Cygames said they’re currently considering ways to make up for the cancelled performances.
“In addition, we are looking into possible responses to Trainers who were planning to attend the concert in person. This will take some time, so we ask for your patience.” Further information about these “possible responses” will be published on the 7th Event World Tour official website.
The statement then rounded off with a final apology to both the community and everyone involved with the upcoming event.
“Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes to all the Trainers who were eagerly looking forward to the concerts, as well as to the Umamusume cast, partner company staff, and everyone involved who put tremendous effort into making this event happen.”
Umamusume’s 7th Event World Tour: The Stage is still set to appear in London, Seoul, and Yokohama, Japan.
