BLAST brings a promising 5v5 hero shooter experience to mobile, now in closed

A sneaky arrival is what I would say, as BLAST: Gun Shooting Game 5v5, or simply BLAST, has arrived in its closed beta testing phase. From Ashforge Game under KRAFTON’s publishing, BLAST is an experience built around short 5v5 team deathmatch battles, with heroes, abilities, and of course, weapons.

The game is currently available as a closed beta in India, so this is still an early version. But even at this stage, the overall package looks fairly well put together.

Matches are designed to last around 5 to 8 minutes for quick mobile sessions

If I were to give you a TLDR, you pick one of 10 heroes, jump into a five-player team, grab a weapon, and get into a match designed to last around 5 to 8 minutes. Each hero has a Signature ability and an Ultimate, while the actual shooting remains the main focus of the combat.

There are also 14 guns to choose from, covering assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, DMRs, snipers, and pistols. Three maps are currently listed, all designed around the 5v5 team deathmatch format. BLAST obviously has its own approach, but you can see that 5v5 shooting and the gameplay snippets give you that rivalry feel to Valorant.

This is also what they call a lightweight shooter, as it doesn’t occupy a massive amount of space on your device, while also supporting performance up to 120 FPS. I wouldn’t go ahead and say the graphics are fantastic, but for its size, it looks great.

For now, BLAST is only in closed beta in India, so there is still plenty that could change before a wider release. If you are from the region and want to give it a try, you can do the same via the Google Play Store. As for iOS and other regions, we’ll need to wait for updates.

Mobile has had its share of shooters, but a proper 5v5 experience still feels like something the platform can use more of. BLAST is now giving it a shot; while we wait for Valorant Mobile’s arrival, we have something on our hands.
